Well, this past two weeks has been an interesting time for sure! That's why it's taken so long to post an update. I went to the hospital with high blood pressure on July 6th. I was admitted and had to stay two nights. They released me on July 8th and sent me home on bedrest, with a plan of most likely rescheduling my c-section to the following Monday since my doc didn't expect my BP to go down once I got back on my feet. So I left the hospital and went to Target to get a few last minute items since I wouldnt' be able to go to the store once I got home on bed rest. Then, I went home, put a few things away in the nursery, and my friend Kerri stopped by to visit. (she's pregnant as well, due two weeks after me, but two days prior this posting had baby Seth!). She and I were sitting on the couch talking, and all of a sudden my water broke! Thank goodness she was here since Jason was at work. I called my doc, and she told me to come straight to her office. So I did, and Jason even beat us to the hospital! She did an exam and sent me directly to "recovery" to prepare for my c-section. (not sure why recovery, since I hadn't had the c-section yet). I had eaten at 11 that day, so we had to wait to have the c-section until around 9:00. They prepped me and Jason both, and took us back, and Ava Joy Mandeville was born at 9:53 pm! Imagine our surprise when they said she weighed 9 lbs 6 oz! She was 20 inches long and turned and looked back at us from the table they weighed her on! We were taken to a room, and she had to be monitored for a few hours because she had a little bit of fluid on her lungs. Unfortunately, after that, she had to spend some time in the NICU and then had jaundice as well. So we ended up spending a total of 7 days at the hospital. We were so ready to go home and take Ava with us, and see Aubri and be a family! Finally we got to go home, Ava's jaundice went away, and Aubri said it was "kinda cool" being a big sister.
More to come!!!
